Wire EDM Machining (WEDM)

Machining of complex parts with tight tolerances, excellent surface finish, and maximum dimensional accuracy.

Wire EDM is a non-contact machining process that allows conductive materials to be cut regardless of their hardness, using a metallic wire and controlled electrical discharges.

Capability Value
Precision ±0.005 mm
Minimum slot width 0.35 mm
Materials Hardened steel, stainless steel, tungsten carbide, titanium
Surface finish Ra 0.2 µm
Maximum thickness 250 mm

Applications:

  • Manufacturing of cutting dies
  • Extrusion dies
  • Through slots
  • Gears
  • Cutting of complex geometries or parts with small internal edges and radii
  • Cases where milling is not feasible due to geometry and thickness
